While the Southern California wine country cannot rival that in Northern California, you can still experience gorgeous wine country during your Southern California vacation.  There are several places in California where you can find wineries: Santa Barbara, San Diego, Solvang, Lompoc, and Buellton all offer wine country amenities, however Temecula seems to be the Mecca of Southern California wineries.  (more…)

Just north of Santa Barbara is the charming Danish town of Solvang.  This tiny charming town (population 5,300) makes for a perfect Southern California tourist stop.  The term “Solvang” means “Sunny Field” and it was founded by a group of Danish settlers in 1911.  Located in the Santa Ynez Valley, this darling town is in the heart of wine country.  You may actually recognize some of the sites from the movie block buster Sideways.   This charming Danish town offers a piece of Denmark for Southern California Tourists.
